Hello there, I'm JP!
A native of the vibrant city of Guadalajara, Mexico, raised in a family where Mariachi is practically our theme song. Music has been the heartbeat of our gatherings, and I've always loved jamming to those lively Mariachi tunes with my family.
Growing up in Mexico, I found my happy place outdoors. The scenic landscapes fueled my adventures and nurtured a deep love for nature, which eventually led me to conquer Iztaccihuatl, the third-highest mountain in my beautiful country. Talk about a challenge, but the view from the top was worth it!
Art has been my way of expressing myself. From doodling as a kid to discovering the magic of the guitar, I decided to take my love for music further. Studying classical guitar at the Conservatory of Music of Guadalajara and music production engineering at Tecnologico de Monterrey allowed me to mix my artistic side with a knack for numbers.
Fuelled by a desire to harmonize my passions, I co-founded Villam Podcast, a non-profit organization dedicated to the environment. Inspired by the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and my growing concern for the changing climate, Villam became a platform to share the wonders of nature and science, resonating with audiences across Mexico and Latin America.
Recently, I tackled a marathon because why not? It was a personal challenge that mirrored the resilience I bring to everything else. Oh, and I also dived into sound design at Vancouver Film School, immersing myself in sound design challenges and refining my abilities to create immersive auditory experiences.
Life's been an adventure, and I'm just getting started. Excited to see where the rhythms of Mariachi, the beauty of nature, and a dash of marathon grit take me next!"
